PURPOSE
This website has been established to help empower citizens to more
effectively participate in the democratic process.
Effectiveness can only be achieved thru knowledge and action.
Knowledge without action or action without knowledge weakens the
foundation on which our democratic principles are founded.
Governmental agencies know that the release of information is the first
step towards accountability to the citizens and governmental agencies
know that release of information empowers citizens. In the
instances where governmental agencies want neither accountability nor
citizen oversight the first order of business is for the agency to deny
disclosure.
This website is intended to help give citizens the means to compel
disclosure and to give governmental agencies the incentive to carefully
weigh the legal basis for claiming a governmental record is not subject
to disclosure.
